Start with a piece of 9″ x 12″ paper. First, fold it in half, then fold it in half again. Open it, and it will look like this. Now, fold it in half in the other direction. It will look like this. You should have eight rectangles that measure 3″ wide, and 4.5″ high. Draw a leaf in each rectangle. If you need guidance, download the template PDF provided below. You can even print and cut it out to trace or use as a stencil. Now you can color in your leaves with markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Try to stick with typical autumn colors: red, orange, yellow, brown, dark purple. You can even draw leaf veins if you want. Or, you can also paint your leaves with acrylic or watercolor. Next, cut on the crease lines of the paper. You should now have eight rectangles (eight leaves). Make sure to flip over your rectangles and paint or color in the reverse sides. Then. following the pencil lines you drew earlier… cut out each leaf with scissors. Finally, write your loved one’s name or a message on each leaf. Now you are done! Don’t forget to take a picture and post your leaves on Instagram and tag the project: @ghosttikememorial #ghosttikememorial The final step: put your leaves in an envelope, and send them to me!
